The Real L Word

Lauren Russell

Artistically creative, engaging and entertaining, Lauren Bedford Russell is making her mark on the entertainment business today as a savvy businesswoman, television personality, and fine fashion designer. Born and raised in La Jolla, California, Russell went on graduate from University of Arizona in 2001.
A true artist in her work, Lauren launched her fine jewelry line LYON (www.lyonfinejewelry.com) in July 2011 -- which has quickly blossomed to become one of the hottest and most sought after jewelry lines in the country today. Russell's LYON has led the forefronts of innovation and design in jewelry with their edgy and avant-garde pieces. A big supporter of the LGBT community, Russell recently launched a new edition to her line, "The Equality Bracelet". The Equality Bracelet was designed with the historic movement to end the legal inequalities of the LGBT community face in marriage, housing, and employment, in mind. A proud supporter of the non-profit group FriendFactor, Russell donates 20% of the proceeds from the sale of each bracelet to the organization. Also new to the bracelet line is LYON's "Rock the Vote" bracelet -- in partnership with the organization of the same name, with 15% of the proceeds being donated to the program.
In 2012, Russell will hold a starring role on Showtime's "The Real L Word", a critically acclaimed reality series where the cameras will follow her day to day life in New York and Los Angeles. Beyond her work on the series, Russell recently created and will launch a charity based merchandise and blog site with fellow "Real L Word" co-star and best friend Amanda Leigh Dunn. The site will feature a shop where fans can purchase various products branded with a selection of their most ridiculous catch phrases used in their day to day lives; proceeds from the purchases will be donated to a variety of their favorite charities. There will also be a portion of the website dedicated to blog selections, where anyone can anonymously write in to give their opinion on various topics, both inside and outside of the LGBT community.
Currently living in Los Angeles, CA, Russell enjoys sketching drawings, traveling, walking her two dogs Olive and Luna, and volunteering with a handful of charities -- including FriendFactor, Rock the Vote, and Adaptive Action Sports.
